Pinzgauer Spaziergang - Mountain Hiking Trail

The Pinzgauer Spaziergang (mountain hiking trail) runs parallel to the Salzach valley at a height of around 2,000 meters along the Kitzbühel Alps/Pinzgauer Grasberge and is a relatively easy and well-signed hiking trail without any major technical difficulties. Due to its length of approx. 25 kilometers one should not underestimate it! The mountain hiking trail begins on the 1,965 m high Schmittenhöhe, the local mountain of the town of Zell am See, which can be reached easy by cable car. From there it runs westwards along the crest itself, but mainly just below it on its southern side. Long climbs are rare, the path mainly lying between 1,800 m and 2,000 m. There are several refuge huts at crossings and several variations of the summits to be ascended, such as the Maurerkogel 2,074 m, Zirmkogel 2,215 m, Hochkogel 2,249 m, Bärnsteinkopf 2,225 m, ... Then the route leads from the Bürglhütte 1,699 m down to Stuhlfelden.

Pinzgauer Marienweg

The entire "Pinzgauer Marienweg" has a length of about 230 km. There are no daily stages given, because each pilgrim goes his own pace. All paths lead partly through untouched nature, through meadows and forests, over highs and lows, past beautiful valleys, past "Marterln" and chapels and steams and lakes. The outer journey confronts you with numerous cultural and religious impressions.
