On an exciting discovery tour through four climate zones from the village of Kaprun uphill to TOP OF SALZBURG at over 3,000 metres above sea level and into the world of glaciers accompanied by a National Park Ranger. How is glacier ice formed, where do golden eagles and bearded vultures live, what survival strategies do edelweiss and saxifrage develop? An experience close to nature for the entire family.

NATIONALPARK GALLERY TOUR

During a guided tour with a National Park ranger you can experience fascinating insights into and views of the Hohe Tauern National Park: In the mystical informative tunnel of the National Park Gallery, the ranger conveys interesting facts about the formation of mountain crystals and the Hohe Tauern, he talks about gold and silver, the natural phenomenon of permafrost, but also about fauna, flora and the glaciers of the Hohe Tauern.

VALLEY OF EMERALDS
12th July to 6th September - Habachtal Bramberg

The Habachtal is the most famous valley in the Hohe Tauern National Park among mineral lovers. The only emerald discovery site in Europe contributes to the international fame of this Tauern valley. With a little luck you can observed wild animals such as red deer, chamois and marmots.

CASTLE SIGHTSEEING TOUR

More than 600 years of eventful history.
When you enter the time-honored Kaprun Castle, it is like traveling back in time. NATURAL JEWEL REEDSEE
13th July to 7th September - Gastein valley


Hike with a National Park Ranger to one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Gastein valley. Surrounded by ancient mountain forest, alpine roses, stone pines and dwarf pines, the Reedsee lake lies in a scenic clearing at the foot to the Tischlergruppe. With a bit of luck, trees, mountains and glaciers reflect magically in the calm waters.

TRIP TO THE ARCTIC

A hike to the glacier region of the Hohe Tauern is nearly the same as a thousand kilometers long trip to the North Cape. During your hike between Großglockner peak and Granatspitz mountain you will walk through different latitudinal zones of flora and fauna.

Walk through the magically lighted Sigmund-Thun Gorge and experience a nature-festival enchanted by colorful light and roaring water. This hike is a mystical and beautiful experience for the whole family.

ARCHERY INTRODUCTORY COURSE

Archery has become a real family sport!
At the "FITA Place" in the archery area in Niedernsill you will get to know the proper handling of bow and arrow during a taster course.

KING OF THE SKY
14th July to 8th September - Raurisertal

In 1986, the first bearded vulture in the Kruml valley was abandoned across the Alps in order to resettle this formerly exterminated "King of the sky". During the excursion through the wild and romantic Kruml valley you can, with a bit of luck, observe other wild animals in addition to bearded vultures, griffon vultures, black vultures and golden eagles.

With a National Park Ranger, you will hike through the Schödertal valley with its steep rock faces and imposing rocky outcrops to the unique periodic Schödersee lake. The constant changes caused by the power of nature are the reason for new things about the head of the valley every year. The wild and romantic path as well as the Schöderbach stream ensure a varied hike.

    FELTING - The traditional processing of sheep's wool into felt!

      SPIN SHEEP'S WOOL with the wooden spinning wheel

      You want to learn the old craft, the spinning and immerse yourself in the world of wool? On the wooden spinning wheel, you can make your first spinning attempts and learn interesting things about the materials. Get a taste of an old craft, which exists since people has wrapped himself in clothes!

      HOCHFELD MINE - A JOURNEY INTO THE PAST

      After the mining was stopped, a lot of work and time are invested to convert the old mine into a visitor indoor exhibition. The attraction offers exciting insights into alpine geology and the history of the National Park.
