The ski area in Kaprun

On the glacier plateau there is a perfect area for beginners. Professionals, (or anyone who would like to become one), can measure their speed on the permanent race track, or you could train till you drop on the mogul piste. Three snow parks, for all ability levels, sum up the Kitzsteinhorn experience.

Sightseeing guests at the Gipfelwelt 3000 marvel the stunning view from 3000 meters, admire the spectacular ice art in the ICE CAMP presented by Audi quattro. 

The Kitzsteinhorn-Glacier is only 10 minutes away from Piesendorf Niedernsill.

Gipfelwelt 3000

The Kitzsteinhorn summit station is situated 3.029m above sea level. It is the highest point comfortably accessible for everyone in the county of Salzburg and a real shining star among the countless alpine options. Gipfelwelt 3000 allows you to savour the entire fascination, energy and grandeur of high alpine nature. From its position at the edge of the "Hohe Tauern National Park" the summit complex offers stunning insights into - and views of - the mystical Kitzsteinhorn and the Hohe Tauern mountains.

The Highlight of the Gipfelwelt 3000
Dive into the mystic inner world of the mountain. A 360 metre mine shaft goes through the Kitzsteinhorn peak with many exciting info-stations. At the end an impressive panorama-platform is waiting. You can relax and enjoy the magnificent peak and sublime peace of the Hohe Tauern National Park at eye level with the Grossglockner and the highest mountains in Austria.

THE NEW CONNECTION FROM KAPRUN TO KITZSTEINHORN

New as of 30th of November 2019

This gondola link is a long-held dream come true. 

Directly from the village of Kaprun with the aid of two new gondola lifts, first up the Maiskogel, from there to the Langwiedboden and the very heart of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area!
Ski-in-Ski-out, 100% snow guarantee from October until well into springtime, along with a wealth of new opportunities – priceless benefits that further solidify Zell am See-Kaprun’s position as a top destination in the Alps.

Since December 2018 Maiskogel Family Mountain offers guests added comfort and convenience, in the form of a 10-passenger gondola know as the MK Maiskogelbahn and the new service hub Kaprun Center.  

Form 30th of November 2019, an ultra-modern try-cable gondola, the 3K Kaprun-Kitzsteinhorn-K-onnection, will link the Maiskogel with the Kitzsteinhorn.

The direct K-onnection from Kaprun up to the Glacier 
This new connection essentially fuses the Maiskogel family ski area with the always-snowy glacier ski area to create a single compelling ski destination.

Now ride the new, ultra-modern MK Maiskogelbahn and 3K K-onnection lifts, first up the Maiskogel, then to the heart of the glacier ski area, where great snow conditions are 100% guaranteed. And when your winter sports are over for the day, hop back on board the lift with skis in tow for an enjoyable ride down to the valley, all the way back to the town center of Kaprun. 

Maiskogel Family Mountain - more summer experiences 
Thanks to the new MK Maiskogel Lift, Kaprun becomes more attractive than ever for families and their children. This lift will also run in summer, providing convenient access to the hiking paths and bike trails close to town.
