GUIDED MOUNTAIN LOVERS TOUR

Mid-May to end of September 2024 - Piesendorf Niedernsill

This guided hike takes you to some of the peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps/Pingzauer Grasberge. A hiker's taxi will take you to the starting point of the tour, from where you can explore the flora and fauna of the mountain world.

SEW YOUR OWN PINE CUSHION

Immerse yourself in the magical world of the stone pine and craft your own piece of mountain enchantment. The stone pine, the queen of the mountains, not only enhances your well-being but also promotes better sleep. Sew your own cushion, fill it with sheep's wool and fragrant stone pine shavings.

"AS THE NIGHT WAS BORN" - FOREST GHOST TRAIN

23th and 30th July as well as 6th August 2024 - Niedernsill

An unforgettable adventure! They will transform the magical forest at night into a forest ghost train with mysterious lights, wild creatures and eerie sounds and melodies. At approx. 9.30 pm, all brave parents, grandparents, siblings and friends are invited to board the Ghost Train.

MEET A RANGER

8th July to 6th September 2024 - National Park Valleys

The Hohe Tauern National Park encompasses many of Austria's most precious landscapes, from the majestic peak of the Grossvenediger in the west to the steppe-like slopes in the east. Meet and join the people who protect our National Park. Learn more about the natural treasures of the National Park and how you can help preserve them for future generations.

Meeting point The junior rangers in the information huts will tell you exactly where to meet the National Park Ranger.

TRIP TO THE ARCTIC

9th July to 3rd September 2024 - Stubachtal valley Uttendorf/Weißsee

Embark on a mountain adventure with a National Park ranger at 2,311 meters. Learn about the adaptation strategies of animals and plants in the high mountains during the hike to “Eissee”, where you’ll see the foothills of the Sonnblick glacier. The return journey leads back to the Rudolfshütte, where a stop for refreshments awaits. Afterwards, you can either hike on foot through the impressive natural landscape to Enzingerboden or opt for a convenient ride with the cable car.

SCHÖDERSEE LAKE

9th July to 3rd September 2024 - Hüttschlag

The tour leads to Ötzlsee, where you officially enter the Hohe Tauern National Park. It continues along a narrow path alongside the Schöderbach towards Arlscharte, deeper into the National Park. At the end of the tour, you’ll reach Schödersee, a special mountain lake referred to as a periodic lake due to its natural underground drainage, which fills only during snwomelt and periods of heavy precipitation.
