With the Guest Mobility Ticket, you can use public transport throughout the Salzburg region for the entire duration of your stay. 

Travel comfortably by bus and train to a wide range of attractions, places of interest, towns and leisure facilities. The ticket is valid throughout your stay. If you receive it before your arrival, you can also use it for your journey to your accommodation.

Frequently asked questions

The Guest Mobility Ticket is available to all overnight guests staying in the federal state of Salzburg. 

The ticket allows you to use public transport throughout the SalzburgerLand region for the duration of your stay. 

If you receive the ticket before the start of your journey, it is also valid for your arrival. Your departure is included as well. On your day of departure, the ticket remains valid until 11.59 pm

It Guest Mobility Ticket is valid for the entire duration of your stay - from your day of arrival until your day of departure

You can receive your Guest Mobility Ticket in one of two ways:

  • Pre-check-in: If you complete the pre-check-in before your arrival, your accommodation provider will issue your ticket digitally in advance. This allows you to use it for your journey to your accommodation within the federal state of Salzburg
  • Check-in on arrival: Alternatively, you will receive your ticket when you check in at your accommodation, either in digital form or as a physical card. 

Please note: The Guest Mobility Ticket is issued exclusively by your accommodation provider. 

With the Guest Mobility Ticket, you can use the following public transport services during your stay: 

  • Regional buses
  • Regional trains
  • Long-distance trains within the federal state of Salzburg
  • Pinzgau Lokalbahn railway 
  • City transport services
  • S-Bahn (suburban trains)
  • Salzburg Verkehr Shuttle services 

The following are not included: Steam trains, heritage trains, special trains, night buses and cable cars 

No. The Guest Mobility Ticket cannot be purchased. 

It is available exclusively to guests staying overnight at an accommodation provider in the federal state of Salzburg. 

A mobility fee is charged per person, per night for the Guest Mobility Ticket. 

The fee applies to guests aged 15 years and older.

Children up to and including the age of 14 do not pay the mobility fee. They still receive the Guest Mobility Ticket and can use it without restrictions. 

Every overnight guest aged 6 years and older receives a Guest Mobility Ticket

Children under the age of 6 travel free of charge and do not require their own ticket.

The mobility fee applies to guests aged 15 years and older

Groups of 10 or more people must register their journey in advance. This allows the transport operators to plan sufficient capacity. 

Seat reservations are available. Depending on the transport operator, an additional fee may apply. 

  • Regional buses: For travel by regional bus, groups of 10 or more people must register at least 7 working days before departure. You can find the registration form here
  • Trains: For travel with ÖBB, groups of 10 or more people are also required to register in advance. Further information is available on the ÖBB website
  • Children and youth groups: For children and youth groups, arrival and departure journeys withing the federal state of Salzburg are covered by the Guest Mobility Ticket. These journeys must also be registered in advance as described above. 

    Any additional journeys during the stay must be arranged independently, for example by coach. 

    This regulation applies to: 
    • School groups travelling as part of school activities
    • Children and young people up to and including the age of 15
    • Members of youth organisations up to and including the age of 21 who are participating in an event organised by their youth organisation
    • Accompanying persons of these groups 

Yes. One dog per person may travel free of charge on buses and trains

Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle where required. 

Bicycle transport is not included in the Guest Mobility Ticket.

Bicycles can be transported for an additional fee on the following services: 

  • Regional trains 
  • Pinzgauer Lokalbahn railway 
  • Salzburger Lokalbahn railway 

A reservation is required for bicyles transport. 

The terms and conditions of carriage of the respective transport operator apply. 

Yes. The Guest Mobility Ticket is valid on selected cross-border routes

For journeys beyond the federal state of Salzburg, only the additional fare for the extra fare zone is charged.  

The following routes are included: 

  • Route 260 via Bad Reichenhall to Salzburg (kleines Deutsches Eck / Little German Corner)
  • Route 180 to Bad Reichenhall central station (kleines Deutsches Eck / Little German Corner)
  • Route 150 to Bad Ischl 
  • Route 546 to St. Wolfgang 
  • ÖBB regional train services from Saalfelden to Hochfilzen station
  • Route 690 and the Loigom-Soifen Shuttle from Saalfelden to Hochfilzen station

If your Guest Mobility Ticket is lost or deleted during its validity period, your accommodation provider can issue a replacement ticket

Yes. If you receive your Guest Mobility Ticket in digital form before your journey, you can also use it for your journey to the federal state of Salzburg. 

For journeys that begin outside the federal state of Salzburg, the ticket is valid from the first stop withing the federal state of Salzburg

Please note: YOu must receive the Guest Mobility Ticket before you start your journey. 

Yes. If you receive your Guest Mobility Ticket through the pre-check-in process before your arrival, you can use it for your journey to your accommodation.
