Frequently asked questions about winter holidays

There is a wide range of activities on offer, from skiing in the top resorts to tobogganing, off-piste activities and fun sports on the Erlebnisberg Naglköpfl in Piesendorf.

Our sparkling winter scenery offers unforgettable holiday moments not just for you, but also for your four-legged companion. Together you can enjoy peaceful winter walks and explore quiet paths through the snow.

📌 Lead required - where does it apply? Within our villages, on winter hiking trails and in the forest, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. In public transport and on cable cars, a muzzle is also required.

🚫 Dogs are not allowed on cross-country trails! Please note that dogs are prohibited on all cross-country skiing trails. This is essential for the safety of all guests and to maintain the quality of the groomed tracks. Since the trails run across private land, we kindly ask you to respect landowners and strictly adhere to this rule.

❄️ Dogs on winter hiking trails - what should you be aware of? On most winter hiking trails, dogs on a short lead are permitted. However, the winter hiking trail along the river Salzach between the dog training area in Niedernsill and the Hummersdorf Bridge in Piesendorf, as well as the section along the Salzach in Jesdorf/Niedernsill, is closed to dogs. 👉 In these areas, please use the Tauern Cycle Path as an alternative route.

🐕 Are there off-lead areas? Yes! In Hummersdorf/Piesendorf you'll find a fenced dog meadow where your dog can run freely, even in winter.

🏡 Dog boarding - when your dog needs a little break - The Trumlinghof in Piesendorf offers a lovingly managed dog boarding service with flexible care options - ideal if you're planning a day on the slopes or activities without your dog.

💩 Why is proper dog waste disposal so important? Even in winter, dog waste must be picket up and disposed of. Hidden beneath the snow, it often lands in the hay when farmers harvest their fields, putting livestock at risk of illness. 👉 Please use dog waste bags and dispose of them in designated bins - for a clean and respectful experience in nature.
