Dogs are warmly welcome in Piesendorf and Niedernsill!
Our picturesque winter landscape is not only a paradise for you but also for your four-legged friend. Together, you can enjoy the fresh mountain air, take peaceful winter hikes, and explore the region. To make sure your holiday is relaxing and enjoyable for everyone, we've put together the most important questions and answers for you:
Do I need to keep my dog on a leash everywhere?
Yes, leashes are required in all areas. In certain areas, like cable cars or public transport, a muzzle is also required.
Can I take my dog on the cross-country ski trails?
Unfortunately, no. Dogs are not allowed on the cross-country ski trails to protect the quality of the trails and ensure the safety of all guests.
Are dogs allowed on winter hiking trails?
On most winter hiking trails, dogs are welcome if kept on a short leash. However, there are some exceptions where dogs are not permitted. Please check in advance which trails are suitable.
Is there an off-leash area for dogs?
Yes! In Hummersdorf/Piesendorf, there is a dog-friendly meadow where your furry friend can run and play without a leash.
Why is it important to clean up after your dog?
Dog waste contains bacteria that can spoil farmers' hay - especially in summer, when the grass is harvested and dried. In the worst cases, it can make cows sick. This is why it#s important to pick up your dog's waste all year round. Additionally, cleaning up also prevents unpleasant surprises on the shoes of other people. Please use dog waste bags and dispose of them in the designated bins.
What activities can I do with my dog?
There are many activities you can enjoy together with your dog. You can find an overview of dog-friendly options here.
