Summer program

Pinzgauer Spaziergang - high-altitude trail

The Pinzgauer Spaziergang trail runs parallel to the Salzach valley at an elevation of about 2,000 meters, along the Kitzbühel Alps/Pinzgauer Grasberge. It is considered a relatively easy, well-marked hiking trail with no major technical difficulties. However, due to its length of approx. 25 km, it should not be underestimated!

The trail begins at the Schmittenhöhe, the local mountain of Zell am See, which is easily accessible by the Schmittenhöhebahn or trassXpress. From there, it heads westward, following the ridge in sections but mostly just below it. Steep ascents are rare and the trail generally lies between 1,800 meters and 2,000 meters.

At several points along the trail, you will find shelter huts and various routes also allow for summit ascents, such as:

  • Maurerkogel 2,074 meters
  • Zirmkogel 2,215 meters
  • Hochkogel 2,249 meters
  • Bärensteinkopf 2,225 meters, ...

From the Bürglhütte, located at 1,699 meters, the path descends to Stuhlfelden.
