News & important information!

The Pinzgau Lokalbahn train takes you comfortably and eco-friendly through the stunning landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Trains run regularly between Zell am See and Mittersill - with a half-hourly service on the route between Zell am See, Piesendorf, and Niedernsill! Between Mittersill and Krimml, a rail replacement bus service is currently in operation.

Our sunny alpine landscape offers unforgettable moments not only for you, but also for your four-legged companion. Together you can enjoy scenic walks, discover a wide range of attractions and explore cosy mountain huts.

📌 Lead required - where does it apply? Dogs must be kept on a lead in all towns, on hiking trails and in forests. On public transport and in cable cars, a muzzle is also required.

🚫 Dog ban! Please note: Dogs are not allowed on the trail along the Salzach between the dog training area in Niedernsill and the Hummerdorf bridge in Piesendorf. Please use the Tauern Cycle Path as an alternative.

🐄 Meeting grazing animals - be mindful! During summer, many alpine pastures and meadows are used for grazing. Mother cows instinctively protect their calves. 👉 Avoid contact. Keep your dog on a lead at all times. If a cow behaves aggressively, let your dog off the lead immediately so it can get away safely. This protects you, your dog - and the animals.

🐕 Are there off-leash areas? Yes! In Hummersdorf/Piesendorf, there*s a fenced dog meadow where your dog can run and play freely.

🏡 Is there a dog boarding service? Yes! The Trumlinghof in Piesendorf is a lovingly run dog boarding facility offering flexible care - whether hourly or full-day.

💩 Why is cleaning up after your dog so important? Dog waste contains bacteria that can spoil the hay used by local farmers - and in the worst case, make cows ill. Please use dog waste bags and dispose of them in the designated bins - for the sake of nature and all our guests.

🏞️ What activities can I do with my dog? Many attractions in our region are dog-friendly and welcome you both warmly. You'll find a handy overview here.

The local tax is € 2.05 per person per night from 15 years old.

Additionally, from 1st May 2025, a mobility fee of € 0.50 per person per night (from 15 years old) will be charged -> Guest Mobility Ticket
