Ready for a mountain adventure with extra comfort? The guided mountain lovers tour starts with a ride in the hiking taxi to higher starting points. Together with your guide, you’ll hike through stunning alpine landscapes - often with a summit view as your reward. Along the way, you’ll learn interesting facts and enjoy new views and special nature moments. The taxi takes you back after the tour.

STEAM TRAIN

14th May to 24th September 2026

Travelling on the nostalgic steam trains of the Pinzgau Lokalbahn, guests enjoy a leisurely journey through the landscapes of the Pinzgau region. Historic carriages, the distinctive experience of a steam locomotive and plenty of railway romance make this trip a special outing for both young and old. A popular highlight is the "Kesselwurst", grilled directly on the boiler of the steam locomotive.

MEET A RANGER

7th July to 5th September 2025 - National Park Valleys

From Monday to Friday, you can meet the rangers of Hohe Tauern National Park in their natural habitat - the stunning valleys of the Salzburg region. 

Here, you'll gain exclusive insights into the unique flora and fauna of the high Alps and learn why conservation is so important. The rangers will share their passion for nature, tell stories about their daily work, and explain how we can all help protect this extraordinary landscape for future generations. 

It's no surprise that rangers are the heart of the National Park - after all, they know this protected area like the back of their hand!

BACHLEHRWEG - Mosses, ferns and lichens

10th July to 4th September 2025 - Hollersbach

Follow the rushing Hollersbach stream along the scenic Bachlehrweg to Senningeralm. Walk through the wild alder forest with mosses, ferns and the impressive butterbur, then continue into the spruce forest, where bright yellow lichens and, with luck, even dipper birds can be spotted. Just before the Senningeralm, you pass historic dry-stone walls before the valley opens into a wide alpine landscape. Here, the tour ends - time for a cozy break or the return journey.

KRIMML WATERFALLS

10th July to 4th September 2025 - Krimml

Join a ranger on a historic hike along Austria's highest waterfalls! Enjoy breathtaking views and learn fascinating facts about the ancient trade route, nature and the power of water. After 385 altitude metres, you'll reach the entrance to the Krimml Achental. Here, the guide tour ends - you can choose to continue into the valley or return along the waterfalls. An unforgettable nature experience awaits!

GLOCKNER BUS - BUS TOUR

3rd July to 28th August 2025 - Grossglockner high alpine road

The Grossglockner high alpine road is one of the most impressive and beautiful scenic roads in Europe. A special driving pleasure by car, motorbike or completely relaxed with the Glockner Bus into the incomparable world of experience in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The bus tour is accompanied by an experienced and knowledgeable National Park ranger.

CASTLE SIGHTSEEING TOUR

30th June to 21st September 2025 - Kaprun

Stepping into Kaprun Castle feels like stepping into the past. Its centuries-old walls whisper stories of knights, nobles and medieval life. First mentioned in records in the 13th century, historians believe its origins date even further back. 

The castle tour starts at 5 pm, where you'll hear captivating tales about its history. Afterwards, you can explore the castle halls, museum, dungeon and various photo spots at your own pace. A special highlight awaits at the highest point of the keep, where a staircase leads you to an incredible panoramic view over the Zell Basin!
