MEET A RANGER

7th July to 5th September 2025 - National Park Valleys

From Monday to Friday, you can meet the rangers of Hohe Tauern National Park in their natural habitat - the stunning valleys of the Salzburg region. 

Here, you'll gain exclusive insights into the unique flora and fauna of the high Alps and learn why conservation is so important. The rangers will share their passion for nature, tell stories about their daily work, and explain how we can all help protect this extraordinary landscape for future generations. 

It's no surprise that rangers are the heart of the National Park - after all, they know this protected area like the back of their hand!

HIKE TO REEDSEE LAKE

11th July to 5th September 2025 - Bad Gastein (Kötschachtal)

LEITENKAMMERSTEIG - roaring gorge & Stone Pine Forests

11th July to 5th September 2025 - Hochkrimml

After a short taxi ride to Finkau, the hike begins on a well-maintained trail to the Leitenkammer Gorge. Viewing platforms offer breathtaking glimpses into the rushing waters, while dippers and wagtails can be spotted along the stream. From Trisslalm, the trail leads through ancient pine forests above the tree line to the Wildkar Hochalm. The return follows the scenic Leitenkammer trail back to the starting point. A must for nature lovers!

ADVENTURE HIKE KÄFERTAL

11th July to 5th September 2025 - Fusch Ferleiten

Scenic landscape framed by three-thousand-meter peaks – Along a well-developed forest road, the tour leads from the Tauernhaus to the picturesque Käfertal, situated below the “Großes Wiesbachhorn” with its impressive glacier world. Observe the inhabitants of alpine meadows and pastures, including around 300 beetle and almost 200 large butterfly species. At the end awaits you a Kneipp facility and a water playground for the little ones.

NATURE TREASURE WIEGENWALD

11th July to 5th September 2025 - Stubachtal valley Uttendorf

Rustic, beautiful, and highly sensitive – The guided hike with a National Park ranger leads through the primeval Wiegenwald to the Schwarze Lacke. Along the way, you’ll learn a lot about the local flora and fauna. Picturesque moor ponds invite you to linger, while beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and their reflections line the path.

GORGEOUS LIGHTS

13th June to 24th October 2025 - Kaprun

Every Friday evening, the Sigmund Thun Gorge is transformed into a stunning light spectacle. Colorful spotlights and glowing effects illuminate the rugged rock walls and rushing waters, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Immerse yourself in this natural symphony of light, water and shadow, experiencing the gorge like never before.
