Snow shoe hiking is an unforgettable experience that will take you off the beaten track (literally) and is available on request at any time! Walks can be in the open sunshine, or take you into the woods, far from the pistes, where only the hunters and the wild animals go.

SNOW SHOE HIKE
29th December 2020 till 9th March 2021

Experience pure winter magic - trudge through the snow-covered winter landscape on a guided snowshoe hike and enjoy the silence of nature. 

  • Meeting place: 10 am ticket office Erlebnisberg Naglköpfl
  • Charge: per person € 15.00

Guided snowshoe hikes with the National Park Rangers

WASENMOOS - INSIGHTS AND VIEWS IN THE HOHE TAUERN
28th December 2020 till 5 April 2021

During an easy snowshoe hike through the Wasenmoos at the Pass Thurn, you can really guess the impressive mightiness of the Hohe Tauern. The National Park rangers provide insights and views into this unique habitat, which in winter seems inaccessible and threatening to peoples. 

  • Meeting point: 9 am parking lot of the cross-country course at Pass Thurn
  • Duration: approx. 3 hours
  • Charge: adults € 12.00 | children and youths (10-16 years) in accompanied by parents free of charge
  • Free of charge with the guest card (excl. feeder service)
  • Bring with you: winterproof shoes with nonskid soles, winter clothing, food & drinks

HIGH ALPINE STUBACHTAL
29th December 2020 till 6th April 2021

The Stubachtal valley at the rear of the village is an inviting place for a high-alpine snowshoe hike. The adventure tour offers you fantastic views of a natural ice curtain, imposing views of the Hohe Tauern and tracks of red deer, foxes and chamois as well as the habitat of many animals. The National Park ranger will also explain interesting facts about survival strategies and symbioses, such as those of the nutcracker and the arolla pine.  

  • Meeting Point: 9.30 am at the valley station Weißsee Gletscherwelt
  • Duration: approx. 4 hours
  • Charge: adults € 18.00 | children & youths (10-16 years) in accompanied by parents free of charge (plus fares for taxis and/or lifts depending on weather conditions)
  • Free of charge with the guest card (excl. feeder service)

MAGIC WINTER EXPERIENCE IN RAURIS
30th 
December 2020 till 7th April 2021

The snow-covered landscape in the rear Rauris valley - called Hüttwinkltal - is excellent for hiking on snowshoes. On this moderate tour you can enjoy magnificent views of the Sonnblick and the Ritterkopf. In the snow-covered winter landscape you will discover again and again the most diverse animal tracks, which tell you about the winter life of the local fauna.

  • Meeting point: 10.10 am parking lot Bodenhaus (accessible by valleybus)
  • Duration: approx. 4.5 hours
  • Charge: adults € 18.00 | children & youths (10-16 years) in accompanied by their parents are free of charge

PRISTINE SULZBACH VALLEYS
31st December 2020 till 8th April 2021

The winter transforms the Ober- and Untersulzbach Valley at the foot of the Großvenediger with its snow-covered forests and icy watercourses into a fairytale landscape. On this snowshoe hike you will learn interesting facts about the Sulzbach valleys. 

  • Meeting point: 10 am Gasthof Schütthof (at the entrance to the Untersulzbach valley)
  • Duration: approx. 5 hours
